What is it?
Zinc Lozenges contains
Zinc aspartate 46 mg supplying 15 mg of elemental Zinc, a vital mineral.
It also contains 30 mg of vitamin C. It is flavored and sweetened with a
proprietary blend of honey crystals, natural fruit sugar and wild
cherry.
Zinc is an extremely important mineral in the body and is a component of
over 300 enzymes which repair wounds, boost immunity, enhance vision,
synthesize proteins, help cell division, maintain fertility, fight free
radicals (antioxidant,) and prevent prostate enlargement, among many
other things. Zinc has a direct anti-viral effect, too.
The average diet does not contain enough Zinc. In fact, consumption of
over 3000 calories per day of wild food is usually necessary to get
enough Zinc.
Cautions
Zinc intake of over 300
mg per day may impair immune function. Do not use high dose Zinc for
more than a week or two. Some people have said that Zinc Lozenges may
cause nausea or a bad taste in the mouth.
Zinc inhibits copper absorption. Copper intake should be increased if
lozenges are taken for more than a few days. Zinc also competes for
absoption with Iron, Calcium and Magnesium. Taking Zinc Lozenges for
extended periods can cause a mineral imbalance.
N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) chelates Zinc and removes it from the body. Long term users of NAC should supplement Zinc.
Suggested Use
Use two lozenges initially, then take one dissolved in the mouth every two waking hours for up to seven days.
