Description

What is it?

Saccharomyces boulardii contains in 2 vegetarian capsules:

Saccharomyces boulardii 10 Billion cfu (subspecies of Saccharomyces cerevisiae)
Other ingredients: Organic Inulin (FOS), Cellulose (capsule) and Guar Gum.

According to the manufacturer:

"Vegetarian Formula. For Occasional Diarrhea. Supports a healthy balance of intestinal flora. Supports a balanced inflammatory response. HOW IT WORKS: The intestinal epithelium forms a continuous physical and functional barrier that protects the internal environment of the body from the fluctuating external input. Various substances including dietary elements, gastrointestinal secretory products, and xenobiotics are known to disrupt this epithelial barrier, leading to the shedding of epithelial cells and the development of digestive upset and discomfort. Saccharomyces boulardii is a probiotic yeast that helps to support intestinal health by encouraging a balanced inflammatory response by the intestinal epithelium, as well as through its effects on overall gut ecology. Saccharomyces boulardii has been clinically shown to support gastrointestinal health during a disruption in the normal balance of gut flora."

Cautions

The safety of probiotics has not been studied extensively in people with compromised immune systems. Use cautiously in patients prone to infections or those with compromised immune systems, critically ill patients, or in neonates born prematurely or those with immune deficiency, as the use of probiotics may increase the risk of infection in these populations. S. boulardii may interact with antibiotics, antifungals, and anti-diarrheal drugs. Consult your healthcare practitioner before taking this product if you are taking any of these medications, if you are being treated for any medical conditions, or if you are pregnant/lactating.

Suggested Use

As a dietary supplement, take 1-2 Vcaps® 2 to 3 times daily, as needed. This product is stable at room temperature. May be refrigerated to preserve freshness.
