WHAT DOES IT DO?

Borage Oil is a rich source of the Omega-6 Essential Fatty Acid (EFA,) Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA.) Borage Oil is nature's richest source of GLA, more than twice as high as the better known Evening Primrose Oil. GLA should always be taken with a source of Omega-3 fatty acids such as Flax seed oil or Perilla oil in a ratio of 1 to 4 parts GLA and 1 part Omega-3 oil.

GLA is beneficial to the body. GLA is converted by the body to protaglandin E1 (PGE1.) PGE1 is anti-inflammatory, is a "blood thinner," and a blood vessel dilator. Most people can convert Omega-6 oil (commonly found in cooking oils) to GLA but some people are unable to do so efficiently.

CAUTIONS

Previous cautions about the "cancer inducing" properties of certain toxins in Borage Oil have been shown to be untrue. The toxins are not found in the oil.

Be sure to take this with Omega-3 oils such as Flax or Perilla.
