WHAT IS IT?

Venotone is a sustained release Horse Chestnut Seed extract (Aesculus hippocastanum) which in 500 mg (2 tablets) contains 20% or 100 mg of triterpene glycosides calculated as Escin. It is the second most prescribed herbal remedy in Germany, just behind Ginkgo. Other ingredients include dicalcium phosphate, ethylcellulose, silica, gelatin and water.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Venotone is useful in venous insufficiency and leg swelling as well as varicose veins.

CAUTIONS

Do not take with anticoagulants or full-strength aspirin. People who are pregnant or nursing, or have impaired liver or kidney function should not take this product without consulting their doctor. Take after ingesting a full meal.

DOSE

Take 1 tablet twice daily for at least 12 weeks. For the first week take once a day. Improvement usually begins after 6 weeks.
