TMG Plus

by Progressive Labs

TMG Plus is Trimethylglycine 500 mg, a methylation agent. It is also known as Betaine (not Betaine HCl.) It also contains per tablet, Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) 37.5 mg, Pyridoxyl-5-phosphate (B6) 7.5 mg, Folic acid 450 mcg, Vitamin B12 375 mcg, and Selenium (Seleno-L-methionine) 7.5 mcg. Other ingredients are calcium carbonate, croscarmellose sodium, diatomaceous earth, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

TMG Plus has unique biological actions related to its methylation abilities.

Methylation lowers homocysteine levels in the blood. The latest thinking is that homocysteine, perhaps more than cholesterol, is at the root of cardiovascular disease such as atherosclerosis and heart attacks. When TMG donates a methyl group to homocysteine, it creates methionine, an amino acid, and S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe.) TMG works with vitamins B6 and Folic acid to prevent heart attacks, and is by far the most powerful antihomocysteine agent available. TMG Plus contains these vitamins for people who aren't getting enough B vitamins.

B vitamins work for most people with homocysteine excess but for some, TMG is necessary.
