Tanalbit

by Intensive Nutrition

WHAT IS IT?

Tanalbit®, 500 mg per capsule,  consists of condensed zinc tannates 425 mg derived from Babul bark, Swedish birch bark, and methylated Quebracho extract. The tannates are complexed with purified casein 30 mg and L-Proline 5 mg. It also contains hydrolyzed chitin extract 20 mg (glucosamine derivatives) and Lotus rhizome extract 20 mg.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Tanalbit is a specially processed plant tannin product. Tannins are astringent substances typically found in tree bark for their protection. One of the reasons that Redwood trees are among the oldest living things on earth is that the rich tannins in their bark make them highly resistant to insects, bacteria and fungi. A fallen Redwood may take many years to decompose.

This product is meant to be an anti-mycotic. It defeats fungus and yeast, although it is also anti-bacterial, etc.

CAUTIONS

Minimal side-effects have been reported. Detox may occur as may nausea or constipation. Eating first or taking a magnesium based laxative may help with these. Dizziness, nausea or sweats may occur in very sensitive individuals. Reducing dosage may also help.

See Disclaimer.

DOSE

Here are dosing guidelines from the manufacturer:

"The recommended dosage for Tanalbit® is 2-3 capsules 3 TIMES a day (18 Max). The dosage that seems to garner the best results, is 9 capsules per day.  Tanalbit®, an herbal supplement and not a drug, works in a gradual manner hence the need for a larger dosage as well as a regimen that works throughout the day.

Treatment time, on average, is about 6-8 weeks depending on the patient and severity of condition. However, some patients do see a marked difference in how they feel within two weeks. Some do require a longer treatment time of up to 6 months. As a precautionary measure, we recommend a one month maintenance program of two capsules per day after the main treatment has finished. Do not end your Tanalbit® treatment suddenly!  If you do, and the candida/bacteria is not completely gone, it will come back. This maintenance program is the ensure that no unwanted yeast/fungal or bacterial colonies remain in the GI tract.

Our clients have found that the best results occur when an individual takes their Tanalbit® dosage approximately 30 minutes before consuming a meal. However, to avoid possible nausea caused by "floating capsules in an empty stomach" syndrome, a person should do so with a light meal or snack.  Suggestion:  handful of brazil nuts.  Or, if they are sensitive or have a weak GI, it is better to take the Tanalbit® with a small meal or light snack.

A person who suffers from Candidiasis or a yeast/fungal infestation should in any case already be following a strict diet regimen.  Some basic rules: avoid sugar, refined carbohydrates and citrus.

After a treatment period of between 4-6 weeks, one should not stop taking Tanalbit®  but rather begin a "maintenance program"  of at least 4 weeks (more or less depending on initial dosage).  The calendar below shows the dosage for a person taking nine capsules a day. Similar reduction of one capsule per week is suggested."
