Pregenenolone

by: Pregnenolone 25 mg is a product of Douglas labs
Pregnenolone 50 mg is a product of Vital Source

WHAT IS IT?

If DHEA is the "mother hormone," then Pregnenolone is the matriarch of the clan. Although it is not a steroid hormone, it is the precursor (originator of) DHEA, progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, cortisone, and aldosterone. Like DHEA, Pregnenolone production in the body declines with age.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Pregnenolone has a wide variety of beneficial effects, mostly as a general anti-stress metabolite.

CAUTIONS

Pregnenolone is virtually nontoxic and is safe even at doses of 1000 mg. Women may prefer Pregnenolone to DHEA as it has fewer potential side-effects. It also more readily converts to progesterone. Pregnenolone is sometimes called the balancing hormone as it has the power to adjust other hormone levels to a more normal state.

See Disclaimer.

DOSE

The usual dose is one 50 mg capsule daily. The dose may be increased to 4 capsules daily if needed. Those who need less may take the 25 mg capsule.

NHC sells bottles of 90 capsules of Pregnenolone 50 mg for $17.95. The suggested retail price is $19.95.
