Oregano Oil
by North American Herb and Spice
WHAT IS IT?
Oil of Oregano comes from wild, Mediterranean Oregano (Origanum vulgare.) It contains a minimum of 70% of the most active ingredient, a phenolic called Carvacrol. It also contains Thymol. The "oregano" used in Italian cooking, available from the grocery store, is not Oregano, but Marjoram and Thyme. Neither it, nor garden grown Oregano, has significant quantities of Carvacrol. The only reliable source is the hand picked, wild plant grown in the Mediterranean mountains which is where this product comes from. The pickers are paid not to over harvest the plant which leaves the wild plant available for future generations. This product contains the P73 blend of Oil of Oregano used in research.
The company that supplies this product donates a portion of the profits to build an infrastructure such as schools for the workers who pick the plants.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Oil of Oregano was used as a medicinal plant as far back as Babylonia, 3000 BCE. The Greeks considered it the premier medicinal plant. Orogonos means "delight of the mountains" in Greek. Throughout the ages it has been used for many medicinal purposes.
For internal use you can also take capsules called
Oregacillin.
