High Bioavailability:
In animal studies Trans-Resveratrol-3-O-Glucoside (Polydatin) is converted into resveratrol during the first pass metabolism.[1] This means that while normal resveratrol is destroyed during first pass metabolism, the same metabolism action is converting Trans-Resveratrol-3-O-Glucoside to Trans-Resveratrol and allowing it to stay much longer in plasma. The estimates range provide a bioavailability between 2x to 5x longer.
High Absorption:
Micronized resveratrol with tween 80 will allow greater absorption compared to regular resveratrol, up to 5 times greater absorption. We now combine both Micronized Resveratrol and Trans-Resveratrol-3-O-Glucoside to provide the best formulation for both absorption and bioavailability, in each individual nitrogen protected capsule. A vegetarian capsule would require slow dissolving beeswax and prevent immediate high absorption that is required. We did not compromise, and did not consider a vegetarian product because of the beeswax absorption issue. Consider one of other products like the X500 or Micro500, if a vegetarian capsule is more important to you over the increased absorption and bioavailability of this product. CAUTIONS
Taking large amounts of resveratrol may increase blood levels of drugs that are usually metabolized by CYP3A4. This simply means that calcium channel blockers, statins, some immunosuppressant drugs (like cyclosporine), and erectile dysfunction drugs such as sildenafil, may have increased blood levels. Please be cautious when taking resveratrol with anticoagulants or anti platelet drugs such as Plavix(r) (Clopidogrel).
