WHAT IS IT? Coromega is a delicious fish oil supplement in a creamy pudding form. It tastes like orange sherbet and has no fishy taste at all. It is ideal for small children or those who don't swallow capsules. It contains DHA and EPA. DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid,) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA,) are omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFA.) Each packet contains:
Ingredients include fish oil, water, pasteurized egg yolk, sodium ascorbate, natural orange flavor, ascorbic acid, stevia leaf extract, vegetable oil, d-alpha tocopherol, citric acid, sodium benzoate, guar gum, xanthan gum, vanillin, beta carotene, potassium sorbate, menthol, folic acid.
WHAT DOES IT DO? EPA/DHA is an important component of the nutrition we receive through the placenta and from breast milk. Later, we receive it from dietary sources such as oily fish, whole eggs, and organ meats. Most Americans do not get enough EPA/DHA and the breast milk of American women contains among the lowest levels in the world of EPA/DHA. This is important because studies show that breast fed babies have higher IQ's than bottle fed babies. The reason is EPA/DHA in breast milk. EPA/DHA is critical to formation and function of brain cells and the retina of the eye. Pregnant or lactating women should be sure to get enough EPA/DHA. At least 85% of Americans are deficient in Omega-3's. This particular product is superior to capsules. A published clinical study showed that it enters the bloodstream faster and remains there longer, at levels twice as high as a leading fish oil product in capsule form. There are many health conditions that respond to higher levels of EPA/DHA: For more information about Omega-3's see Flax oil. Another capsule form of EPA/DHA is Cerebral DHA.
Consult with a physician if you are diabetic or are taking blood thinners. See Disclaimer.
DOSE Take 1 packet daily for ages over 4. This makes the recommended daily amount of EPA/DHA. It does not require refrigeration and has no sugar or artificial sweetners, dairy, starch, wheat or gluten. It may be squeezed directly into the mouth or onto a spoon. It can also be added to food such as yogurt or mixed with a beverage (electric blending required.)
