Bitter Melon

WHAT IS IT?


Bitter Melon (aka. Balsam Pear) is the tropical fruit Momordica charantia. It contains the glycosides mormordin and charantin. It also contains Polypeptide-P and Vicine. Each gelatin capsule of concentrated extract contains 500 mg.

WHAT DOES IT DO?


Bitter Melon has been used in the folk medicine of China, India, Africa and the southeastern USA. Its primary use is in blood sugar regulation. It is hypoglycemic.

CAUTIONS


Diabetics should not be self-medicated. Consult your physician before using this product. Do not use it for other conditions since it could cause a serious hypoglycemia. No toxicities have been reported with this herb, but it should not be used by pregnant women or children.
