Betaine HCL and Pepsin

WHAT IS IT?


Betaine HCL is a source of hydrochloric acid for the stomach. Pepsin is a digestive enzyme especially useful for proteins.

Each capsule contains Betaine HCL 520 mg and pure, lactose-free porcine Pepsin equivalent to 21 mg Pepsin at 1:15,000 potency.

Other ingredients include hypo-allergenic plant fiber, vegetable capsule.

WHAT DOES IT DO?


Most older people lack hydrochloric acid in the stomach. This replaces it.

Not everyone with stomach problems lacks acid. Consult your physician. Ulcers can be serious. Do not treat them alone and if you suspect that you have an ulcer do not take this product without consulting a physician. Too much acid can also harm the stomach. If the product burns when you take it stop.

Those taking drugs such as NSAID's (Motrin, Naprosyn, Indocin, etc.) or cortisone-like drugs (prednisone, dexamethasone, etc.) that cause ulcers should not take this product without consulting a doctor.

This product should not be confused with Betaine or Trimethylglycine (TMG.)

DOSE


Take 1 capsule with a large meal. Increase by 1 with every large meal until either a total of 7 are taken or a warm feeling occurs in the stomach. Then reduce the dose by 1 capsule. Smaller meals may require proportionately less.
