Zinc-L

by Intensive Nutrition

WHAT IS IT?

Each lozenge of Zinc-L contains Zinc oligo-chelate supplying 25 mg of elemental Zinc, a vital mineral. It also contains 75 mg of vitamin C. It is flavored and sweetened xylitol 880 mg and lemon/lime. Other ingredient is magnesium stearate.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Zinc is an extremely important mineral in the body and is a component of over 300 enzymes that repair wounds, boost immunity, enhance vision, synthesize proteins, help cell division, maintain fertility, fight free radicals (antioxidant,) and maintain prostate, among many other things.

The average diet does not contain enough Zinc. In fact, consumption of over 3000 calories per day of wild food is usually necessary to get enough Zinc.

CAUTIONS

Zinc intake of over 300 mg per day may impair immune function. Do not use high dose Zinc for more than a week or two. Some people have said that Zinc Lozenges may cause nausea or a bad taste in the mouth.

Zinc inhibits copper absorption. Copper intake should be increased if lozenges are taken for more than a few days. Zinc also competes for absoption with Iron, Calcium and Magnesium. Taking Zinc Lozenges for extended periods can cause a mineral imbalance.

N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) chelates Zinc and removes it from the body. Long term users of NAC should supplement Zinc.

See Disclaimer.

DOSE

Use 2 to 3 tablets daily or as directed by a healthcare provider.

NHC sells bottles of 50 Zinc-L for $13.28. The suggested retail price is $14.75.
