Zinc Picolinate

by Douglas Labs

WHAT IS IT?

Each capsule of Zinc Picolinate contains Zinc 50 mg from 250 mg of Zinc picolinate acid complex. Other ingredients are cellulose, gelatin (capsule) and vegetable stearate.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Zinc is an extremely important mineral in the body and is a component of over 300 enzymes that repair wounds, boost immunity, enhance vision, synthesize proteins, help cell division, maintain fertility, fight free radicals (antioxidant,) and maintain prostate, among many other things.

The average diet does not contain enough Zinc. In fact, consumption of over 3000 calories per day of wild food is usually necessary to get enough Zinc.

CAUTIONS

Zinc intake of over 300 mg per day may impair immune function. Do not use high dose Zinc for more than a week or two. Zinc inhibits copper absorption. Copper intake should be increased if lozenges are taken for more than a few days. Zinc also competes for absorption with Iron, Calcium and Magnesium. Taking Zinc for extended periods can cause a mineral imbalance.

N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) chelates Zinc and removes it from the body. Long term users of NAC should supplement Zinc.

See Disclaimer.

DOSE

Use 1 capsule daily or as directed by a healthcare provider.

NHC sells bottles of 100 Zinc Picolinate for $12.40. The suggested retail price is $12.40. The manufacturer prohibits us from discounting this product.
