WHAT DOES IT DO?
According to the manufacturer:
"Neptune NKO Krill Oil is made from tiny shrimp-like crustacea harvested from the pristine oceans surrounding Antarctica.
NKO Krill Oil is really three nutraceuticals in one:
1. The anti-oxidant capacity of NKO Krill Oil is extraordinary. Using ORAC testing, NKO Krill Oil has over 300 times the anti-oxidant power of vitamin C or vitamin E.
2. The omega-3 fatty acids in NKO Krill Oil are unique in their profile. They are bound to phospholipids, which highly facilitates the absorption of the fatty acids in the intestines. NKO is made via a patented low temperature extraction process which maintains the integrity of the phospholipid complex.
3. The most abundant phospholipid in NKO Krill Oil, phosphatidyl-choline, has significant choline content. Choline is a precursor for the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (ACh). ACh deficiency can result in learning and memory problems.
NKO Krill Oil is the first nutraceutical known to contain this omega-3 / phospholipid complex. Standard fish oils lack a phospholipid complex. Two studies have shown significantly higher DHA absorption when DHA was bound to phospholipids, as compared with DHA from fish oil. This complex provides important cell membrane building blocks in the ratios used by the body, and may be better utilized than stand-alone omega-3 or phospholipid supplements. The result: healthier cell membranes that function better to maintain human health."
