WHAT IS IT?
Each capsule of Coriolus Versicolor VSP, Cloud Mushroom extract (Yun Zhi, in China, Kawaratake in Japan) contains Coriolus versicolor mushroom mycelium 625 mg. 35% polysaccharide content. There is approximately 200 mg of Beta glucan in each capsule. No detectable levels of heavy metals. Other ingredient is gelatin capsule.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
According to the manufacturer:

Commonly known as the "turkey tail" in North America, Coriolus versicolor (also known as Trametes versicolor), is unique among the medicinal mushrooms, with extensive use in both traditional herbalism and modern clinical practice.
The focus of the modern clinical use and research (over 300 published studies), has been the immuno-modulating properties of the hot water extracted polysaccharides. Originally isolated from the fruiting body (the mushroom), sales for these unique all-natural compounds have reached several hundred million dollars a year in Japan and China, making them the most widely used products in those countries by people facing serious immune challenges.
Under NMR analysis the glucan portion of PSP is almost identical to that of PSK and VPS; however, due to variations in fermentation media and extraction methods, there are some differences. PSP contains arabinose and rhamnose as single sugars but no fucose. The material used in the Japanese research (PSK) and VPS contains fucose, but no arabinose. Also, PSK and VPS contain protein in the non-polysaccharide portion of the molecule, PSP contains peptides."

Do not use if pregnant or nursing without knowledge of your health provider. Immuno-modulating substances should be used with extreme care or avoided completely in organ-transplant patients utilizing immuno-suppressive agents.
