CAUTIONS
See the
Disclaimer.
Melatonin is nontoxic even in doses hundreds of times the therapeutic dose. In Europe, very high doses are used as a contraceptive. There is some concern about taking Melatonin if you have an immune system cancer or autoimmune disease. Also, beta-blocker drugs such as Inderal, Tenormin, Viskin, Normodyne and hordes of others, stop Melatonin production. Patients taking these medications should also supplement Melatonin to avoid insomnia.
The need for Melatonin may be determined by a simple saliva test called the
Sleep Profile.
