Cataplex F

by Standard Process

WHAT IS IT?

Each tablet of Cataplex® F contains 285 mg of a proprietary blend of
calcium lactate, defatted wheat (germ), carrot (root), bovine prostate, bovine liver, magnesium citrate, oat flour, bovine orchic extract, bovine liver fat extract, flaxseed oil extract, potassium para-aminobenzoate, mixed tocopherols (soy), ascorbic acid, and soybean lecithin. Each tablet supplies 2.4 mg bovine liver fat extract with naturally-occurring unsaturated fatty acids. Other ingredients are honey, glycerin, arabic gum, calcium stearate, prolamine iodine (zein) 95 mcg, and pyridoxal 5'-phosphate 0.8 mg

WHAT DOES IT DO?

According to the manufacturer:

"It is often necessary to supply a source of iodine when increasing essential fatty acid (EFA) intake, since additional EFAs increase the body's need for iodine proportionately. A strong functional and interdependent relationship exists between this vitamin and the thyroid gland. As fats are metabolized, the thyroid gland works to meet the demand, and iodine is essential for thyroid function. The tablet form of Cataplex F contains iodine to help the thyroid meet this demand"
