WHAT IS IT? Artemisinin is the active constituent of Sweet Wormwood (Artemisia annua.) This product contains hundreds of times more of this constituent than good quality herb. The herb has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine as Qing hao Su. Each capsule contains 100 mg. Inert ingredients are cellulose and magnesium stearate.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
According to the manufacturer: "Pure artemisinin or Qinghaosu, the active constituent of the herb Artemisia annua (sweet wormwood). Good quality Artemisia annua contains 0.3-0.5% artemisinin, so pure artemisinin provides hundreds of times more of the active constituent artemisinin than the whole herb itself. Research has shown artemisinin to be particularly beneficial in balancing the microbiology of the GI tract. Allergy Research Group introduced artemisinin to the U.S. market more than a decade ago. ARG does independent potency assays on every batch (using HPLC), and independent tests verify its effectiveness. ARG artemisinin is minimum 98.5% pure, and does not contain thujone."
CAUTIONS Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Long term administration, greater than 2 or 3 months, should be monitored by a health professional. Combining with antioxidants or iron could theoretically decrease effectiveness. Detoxification reactions could theoretically occur in some individuals. Use under the supervision of a health professional. See Disclaimer.
DOSE As a dietary supplement, 1 or 2 capsules one or two times daily before meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Sensitive individuals may want to take with food.
