Agaricus blazei

by JHS Natural Products

WHAT IS IT?

Each Vcap of Agaricus blazei contains extract of Agaricus blazei fruit body 400 mg. Agaricus blazei is a mushroom that grows in Brazil. This hot water extract contains 45% polysaccharides. It is known as Himme-matsutake in Japan and Almond Portobello or Royal Sun Agaricus in America.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Agaricus blazei is a mushroom with immune stimulating properties. It was originally discovered in Florida but Japanese cultivate it for cancer therapy and because it is deliciously edible with an almond flavor.

Research, begun in the 1990s, has also shown that Agaricus blazei contains a unique beta 1-6 linkage and contains the highest levels of beta glucan yet found in a medicinal mushroom. The common table mushroom is also an Agaricus species and should not be confused with this one.

CAUTIONS

Do not use if pregnant or nursing without consulting a health professional. Agaricus blazei polysaccharides are considered to be safe and nontoxic. However, immuno-modulating substances should be used with extreme care or avoided completely in organ-transplant patients utilizing immuno-suppressive agents.
