WHAT IS IT?

7-Keto™ DHEA or (3 -Acetyl-7-oxo-dehydroepiandrosterone,) is a metabolite of Dihydroepiandersterone (DHEA.) Each capsule contains 7-Keto® DHEA (3 -Acetyl-7-oxo-dehydroepiandrosterone) 25 mg. Other ingredients: rice flour, gelatin.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Dr. Henry Lardy at the University of Wisconsin studied the well-known supplement, DHEA, looking for metabolites that had less potential side-effects and greater efficacy. After extensive research lasting 10 years and sorting through 200 substances the result came down to one compound: 7-Keto DHEA.

7-Keto DHEA is an exciting substance for several reasons. For one thing, it is not converted into the sex hormones such as testosterone or estrogen. This means that it can be taken by those for whom greater amounts of sex hormones may be a problem e.g. those with hormone dependent tumors.

7-Keto DHEA, a natural metabolite of DHEA, has been shown to safely increase thermogenesis and improving fat loss benefits of diet and exercise three-fold.

Antioxidants are added based on the effect 7-Keto has in boosting mitochondrial oxidation.

CAUTIONS

None. It hasn't shown any side-effects so far but obviously, pregnant or nursing mothers should consult their physician. Studies suggests that 7-keto does not convert to testosterone or estradiol, as can DHEA. However, no research to date has evaluated 7-keto's effect on hormonally dependent conditions such as prostate cancer.
